Thanks for visiting www.hotcakesceramics.com (the "online store")! Hotcakes Ceramics is the tradename of Hotcakes Ceramics studio, Kaslo - BC Canada ("Hotcakes”). Hotcakes wishes to sell her products through the internet, her studio and other marketing activities.

Hotcakes attempts to ensure that the content on the online store is as complete and accurate as possible. However, this does not guarantee that the information, product descriptions or other content of the online store are 100% accurate, complete, current, or error-free. Hotcakes reserves the right to correct any error, inaccuracy or omission or to change or update the content without prior notice. If a product offered by Hotcakes is not as described, your sole remedy is to return it in unused condition.

All our products are made of quality earthenware. The glazes we use are 100% non-toxic. All products are microwave (low temperatures), dishwasher and food safe.

Microwave instructions: you can use the products shown on this website on low temperatures (max. 175 degrees Celcius / 347 degrees Fahrenheit). Do not heat up teapots in the microwave; you can keep them warm on a woodstove though. Do not heat up mugs or bowls in the microwave without fluids or food in them.

Note that each product is decorated by hand. Your product may not look exactly like the one in the picture on this website. Designs will vary and the real colors may vary slightly to the ones you’ll see on your screen.

Hotcakes reserves the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, remove or edit content, or cancel orders in their sole discretion, whether or not an order has been submitted, confirmed and/or your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, Hotcakes shall promptly issue a credit to your credit card.

The website or any portion of it (design of products and picture among others) may not be reproduced, copied, duplicated, sold, resold, or otherwise exploited for any commercial purpose without the express written consent of Hotcakes Ceramics.

Your Account

Hotcakes does not sell products to children, but to adults who are permitted to purchase products with a credit card. If you are under 19, you may use the online store only with involvement of a parent or guardian.

The personal information you supply when buying our products will be saved in our client database. Hotcakes Ceramics treates this information with care and only in relation of the realization of your order or to maintain a client relationship with you. Hotcakes does not supply any information to other parties. If you would like to see which information we keep in our database, you may ask us about it and we will send you the details. If you would like us to remove your personal information from our database after your order has been delivered, please send us a written request for it.

Prices, taxes and shipping

All prices for products are stated in Canadian Dollars. Sales tax and shipping charges are added to the product once you go to the checkout.

Shipping costs are based on the total weight of the products you are buying. It is not our intention to earn money on shipping. We ship worldwide using Canada Post or a courier service. We focus on getting the lowest shipping price for you. If you’d like to have your products shipped fast, please mention your wishes in the comment box during checkout. Shipping charges do not include insurance unless you let us know you would like to insure your order. If the shipping charges you’ve paid turn out to be too high Hotcakes Ceramics will refund the difference through PayPal.

Being a small business we do not charge sales taxes. International buyers are responsible for any import taxes or tariffs on international purchases.

If the delivery is not successful and this is due to the incorrect address given, the cost of sending the order again will be on behalf of the client. Hotcakes cannot be held responsible for any packages not delivered due to incorrect addresses or postal codes / zip codes.

Payment

For safe, secure and easy payments, Hotcakes Ceramics offers you 3 ways to pay:

through PayPal (for VISA and Mastercard creditcards)
by personal cheque
by cash payment at the studio

PayPal (for VISA and Mastercard creditcards)

Once you’ve placed your order on our website and you have chosen PayPal at the payment options, you will be automatically redirected to the PayPal website to finalize the payment of your order. You will see the order total on your screen.

You will be asked to sign in to your PayPal account or just pay the order with VISA or Mastercard without having a PayPal account.

If you do have a PayPal account, you send a payment to Hotcakes Ceramics by only filling in the email address of Hotcakes Ceramics (info@hotcakesceramics.com). Once you have approved the payment, PayPal will debit the amount automatically from your account balance or your credit card. Your credit card details are not stored and are only used for one-time payment of your order. You can also securely store data for future orders with PayPal.

Once your payment has been received by us and debited from your card, we will start working on your order / items will be shipped.

Personal cheque

You can send a personal cheque to Hotcakes Ceramics to take care of the payment of your order. Once we have been able to cash your cheque we will start working on your order / items will be shipped.

Risk of loss, shipping damage, returns

All items purchased from Hotcakes are either picked up by the customer or are shipped by Canada Post or courier.

All products are carefully packed before shipping. We are not responsible for any delay in delivery due to strikes, lockouts or any other causes beyond our control.

We want our customers to be satisfied with our products so we are committed to inform you accurately about the products through this online store. Please read the descriptions carefully as we do not accept returns unless there was a failure on our side.

Always inform us about your wish to return the product or if goods have been delivered with damage within 7 days after receiving your order. You can use our contact details on the contact page on our website. Products that have not been reported within the prescribed period, or received by Hotcakes Ceramics, are not accepted. When received your return, we will send you a new product or refund the purchase price. Both the message and the receipt of your return will be sent via e-mail. Shipping is non-refundable and buyers are responsible for all shipping costs.

Waiver, Limitation of Liability

This online store and all related products and services are provided by Hotcakes Ceramics on an ‘as is’ basis. You agree that your use of this online store and the products puchased is at your own risk. Hotcakes specifically disclaims any liability for damage caused by using products sold on this online store.

You as a buyer agree to waive any and all claims that you have or may in the future have against, and release from all liability and agree not to sue Hotcakes Ceramics for any personal injury, damage, loss or expenses that you sustain during or as a result of the use or inability to use the products of Hotcakes Ceramics, or arising from the use of the Hotcakes Ceramics internet site, due to any cause whatsoever.

You as a buyer agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Hotcakes Ceramics from and against all claims, losses, expenses, damages and costs (including, but not limited to, direct, incidental, consequential, exemplary and indirect damages), and reasonable attorneys' fees, resulting from or arising out of use or misuse of all Hotcakes Ceramics products.
